Transfer?

Yes. Please.

Why do I not go to UCSB?!

And I'm pretty sure Stanford did/does this too.

Rexburg, step it up!
Please. :)

Because let's be honest, who doesn't want to cuddle with this before/after finals?

(Answer: NO ONE.)

Productive.

Hi again friends.

I realized that I have blogged about 5x as much as I normally do this weekend. I suppose I just have a lot to share.

This was my to do list that I wrote for myself last night.

And I would say I was VERY productive.

I did all my laundry (including my sheets and towels).
I COMPLETELY cleaned my room.
-Dusted my nightstand/desk.
-vacuumed.
-organized all my drawers (all 6 of them).
-organized my closet.

I remade my bed.
I did my homework PLUS got ahead for the week.

I would say it was very successful.

And Jessica just got home and now my room looks like this:

Booo. all that hard work, GONE.

Hahaha well, it still kinda looks clean. But messy now.

welcome to our room. :/

Excited.

I just read this blog (hahahaha yes, I blog hopped again... sue me.) (Also, they're adorable, yes?)

And this post makes me SO FREAKING EXCITED for the Fall. I've been a little nervous/hesitant until now (and because it just happened) but now I am like LEGIT excited.

Is it August yet?!

I can't believe we haven't even hit midterms yet. But once they come, the rest of the semester will fly by and then I'll be spending the majority of the rest of 2011 in the Eastern Hemisphere.

So.

Stoked.

This is my new home come August 30.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet.

(I have approx. nine-ten more weeks in the good Ol' USA until 2012.)

UNREAL.

Seriously though, I'm stoked out of my mindddddddddd.

Also

I feel like I'm married.

Not having roommates is strangely fun (AND LONELY.)

If only I had a handsome man here to cuddle with me....

hahahahaha

But really, if I had a husband, this wouldn't be too bad....

And the fact that I've been reading married people's blogs all day long probs hasn't helped.

Blog Hopping.

I've realized lately that my new hobby is blog hopping.

I start reading someone's blog (who I usually know) and then I click on links to their friends and read about their lives (from start to finish) and then I pick one of their friends.

It's kinda creepy but it's also so fascinating.

I am currently obsessed with a couple who live in Hawaii. They're going to school at BYU-Hawaii (actually, technically they just graduated....) but the wife is a triplet. She has two identical sisters. And they are hilarious and adorable. I've always wanted a twin/triplet and I am officially beyond jealous. It's funny because I was reading triplet #1's blog and then I started reading triplet #3's blog. And #1 and #3 are both married and their husbands seem so similar. But I guess that's bound to happen when you are triplets. And it's so interesting to learn about them and their lives. haha I'm like legitimately jealous of their life. She and he husband are SO cute (and they met at BYU-I DO!). I seriously want to be them. They go on crazy adventures and they are just so in love. They go on weekly beach dates and they're just adorbs.

Anyway, yeah, I guess that's all I had to say.

I've spent like all weekend blog hopping. And I happened upon their blog yesterday and I've read lots of #1's blog and lots of #3's blog and their mutual travel blog. Unfortunately #2 doesn't have a blog. But I think it might be because she still is single and most people start a blog when they're married... which makes sense.

But yes. hahaha I realize I'm kinda a creep. Oh well. I like learning about other people and seeing what exciting things other people are doing.

(And sorry to those of you who blog-hopped to my boring blog...)

News:

Well, I haven't blogged in a long time so I figured I would blog now.

Since I'm home alone on a Friday night.
The first day of our three day weekend.
And I'm sick.

Cool.

Anyway, the weather this week has been crazzzzzy.

Monday it started raining and it didn't stop until Wednesday. It literally rained ALL day on Tuesday. The good news though: I bought some new rainboots. My old ones (which I LOVELOVELOVED ripped/got a hole in them in the fall so they have been out of commission. And it wasn't a problem at home because I was professional and didn't need to wear rainboots but here, where I'm walking all the time, it's a lifesaver.

I saw some at the bookstore at the beginning of the semester but I wasn't sure if I needed them so I didn't buy them... until Tuesday. Although they didn't have my size in the ones I had previously seen so I got some other ones that look like this:

They aren't what I would normally get but I LOVE the green and I think they're perfect now. haha

Wednesday, it was warmer and sunny, which was great. I was SO busy though.
Class at 9-10.
Then from 11:15-1:45.
Finishing my lab report before my lab at 3:15.
Lab until 5:15.
Straight to tennis practice.
Came home, threw on a dress and then went to meet with the Bishop.
Was there for far too long.
Then I was finally home. It was crazy.

I didn't do my homework right away and then when I tried, I-Learn wasn't working. So I went to bed and had to wake up early.

Thursday was exciting.
It was SUPER windy. Like windier that I've EVER felt. I almost got blown away!

A couple of weeks ago, I lost my favorite silly band. I didn't know where it could've gone. It's really lose though so I figured it must've just slipped off when I had taken my jacket off or whatever but I looked and looked and I couldn't find it.

Well, I found it in the sleeve of my favorite sweater that I had just washed. It was wonderful because it has some sentimental value. I'm glad it's back. :)

Later that afternoon, while I was in an extra credit discussion (where we got popcorn!) an 801 number called me and I realized that it was the Jerusalem Center Office. I couldn't leave though so I just had to sit their in anticipation until I could listen to the voicemail and call them back.

I called them back and (drum roll please!)

I am now officially off the waiting list. The BYU-Jerusalem Center will be my home for four months at the end of the year. :)

That's right.

I am going to study abroad in Jerusalem. AND I'll be doing it with my favorite older sister. :)

I'm pretty stoked. So after I talked to her (the Jerusalem lady) on the phone, I went over to the Kimball and got the deferment form and then I came home and talked to the manager here so I could start selling my Fall contract. I am so productive. :)

So yes, Thursday was a super great day. And it was so handy that my Stats class was cancelled because it gave me SO much time to get all that stuff done.

Now I'm sick. I'm not even sure what I'm sick with either. I kinda have a sore throat and I'm my head hurts and I felt kinda feverish earlier. I don't know, it's weird. But I went to the store today to get some tea and popsicles because I was in the mood for them. I also got some bread (first time I've bought bread... haha) and jam and crackers. haha it's weird when I'm sick because I get like weird cravings. It's like I'm pregnant (but I'm not haha).

So yeah, I came home and had some toast and tea and then took a nap and now I'm sitting on my bed, with my snuggie, blogging while watching Pride and Prejudice (The LDS version), eating Jimmy John's (another weird craving...) and drinking cran-apple juice out of my new water bottle. haha

What a life. :)

All the roommates (except Elaine and I) are in Salmon for the weekend. I'm kinda sad I'm not there because it would've been nice to get away but somehow the idea of riding a horse when it's rainy and cold doesn't sound all that appealing. And I really didn't want to sit in a car for 3 hours today. SO it's all good. I'm just going to have a nice relaxing weekend to myself. :)

This movie is so presh. I'm at the part where she is at Darcy and Anna's cabin. So heartwarming. He is also so dang attractive. haha I think I'm going to watch Nemo tomorrow. It's going to be a splendid weekend. :)

Anywho, I think that is all for now. I can't believe it's almost June. Crazyyyyy.

Ni-troll turns TWENTY-THREE in 5 days. How did we get so old?!

Thursday, May 19, 2011

twenty.

Yesterday, I had a birthday.

Remember when you're young and you count down the days until you're birthday starting at like 60?

Well, I'm definitely way past that point. haha and usually I can feel my birthday coming. Like I know it's soon and my birthday feels special. Like May 18th usually feels different compared to the 17th or 19th.

Not this year.

It didn't even feel like my birthday.

And I DID NOT want to turn 20. That is so old people.

But unfortunately for me, I didn't get the choice. So I am now twenty years old.

And let me tell you about my super exciting day as a twenty year old:

Woke up at 8:30ish. Put on swimsuit, sweats, UConn t-shirt (Thanks KFull!), and flip-flops (yes, I broke the honor code....) and walked to the Hart.

Swam for an hour. Got dressed again and walked home.

Showered and got ready for the day.

Got a surprise delivery of flowers from a secret admirer. That's always nice. (And I have a pretty good idea who they're from. But it's a secret. :) )

Went to class where it was actually funny/enjoyable.

Came home, was productive.

Went to Botany lab (where he gave us 10/10 on our quizzes because he didn't have them!) and we got out super early.

Went to tennis practice where we actually did stuff.

Thai food for dinner. :)

Homework.

Cake with the roommates. :)

Talked with the fambam. Well, papa noel, mama noel and troll. And we had a late-night laugh attack over the phone. So great. Slash we attempted to plan our new exciting summer trip... although it didn't really work. But it's going to be sweet, let me just tell you.

And then I went to bed. Yeah, definitely a normal old day.

I still don't really believe that I'm 20 years old. How did this happen? It's strange because as you get older, time goes faster. I feel like it was literally just Christmas but somehow it's been 5 months. Crazy.

When I was little, I would always wish that I had older siblings who were in college. And who were in their twenties. Now my little sibs get to tell people that they do. They have a 23 (almost!) year old sister and a 20 year olds sister. Plus a 16 year old sister. We are old.

And it's strange that I have a sister who isn't even 10 yet.

Anyway, I realize that this was totally random and you probably didn't want to hear any of this but it was your choice to read it.

School is going swell. I have A+ in all of my classes except one. Which is my stupid Humanities class. But I am not worried about it team (and for all you concerned readers, I am not failing anymore... haha I have a B.) I have two tests this weekend (seriously?) and probably many other things I should be doing. At least I don't have to talk in church though. :)

Rexburg is still a little bit confused about the weather. It was SOO windy today. I felt like I was going to be blown away. And I was up at the temple at the tippity-top of the hill so that didn't help much either. It was scary. haha hopefully it'll warm up just a teensy bit soon. Or just stop winding. hahaha but yeah....

Let me see. one more week of school until we have a three day weekend. And then I have 4 days of school, then a weekend and then 5 days of school and then Shmackely comes! So exciting.

She's probably going to starve to death while she's here/only eat cereal.

I remember when I visited Nicole at the Zoo that she didn't eat breakfast. So she let me walk to the vending machine and get something "if I wanted." I don't think we ate lunch or dinner (haha just kidding, we probs did, I just don't remember what we did...) So I'm worried about having to feed my dear starving sister for the weekend. We can Thai it up and go to Sammy's and all that jazz so it'll be fine. haha

But yes. I suppose I should probably go to bed. I have to wake up early-ish tomorrow and study and then go to class and then study alllllll afternoon/night.

Bring it, Botany.

families are forever. :)

This weekend, I have been a huge procrastinator.

Yesterday, instead of writing my talk for today (which went well) I became completely consumed in Nie Nie's life. Nie Nie (Stephanie Nielson) is a Mormon-mommy blogger who is friends with Mindy Gledhill. In fact, "All About Your Heart" was written (I think?) because of Nie Nie. Nie Nie and her husband Mr. Nielson were in an almost-fatal airplane accident in August 2008 and they were both severely burned and are still on the long road of recovery. They just did a 20/20 episode on their story (which you can watch here: http://abc.go.com/watch/2020/SH559026/VD55126905/2020-513-plane-crash-survivor). Or if you want a shorter video, here is a Mormon Message about them.I watched the video and then I read and read and read and read her blog. haha like I said, completely consumed.

I was reading her (Nie Nie's) blog today, and she mentions a family and links to their blog. This family she linked to had just lost their 18-month old daughter suddenly. Anyway, I started reading their blog and the sad sad story about how their precious daughter passed away. I've been crying (like actually crying, not just tearing up...) and reading about this amazing couple. They were both students at BYU-I (she just graduated this past winter) so they live in Rigby and I don't know.... I just felt a strangely deep connection with them. And it's been an emotional journey for me.... reading their blog. How pathetic. They also wrote a story about them in the Rexburg Standard Journal which is here. haha But seriously, read it but be careful. Their daughter is absolutely adorable and their story is heartbreaking.

I've learned some things though:
I want a husband like Mr. Nielson. (and Patrick).
Life is too fragile to take for granted.
We are given trials to grow. God loves us and he knows it's hard.... but we need to grow up and He is there every step of the way, if we let Him.
You can do hard things.
The most important thing on this earth is our families. Cherish them.

Reading this blog made me want to fly home and see my family.... :/ Maybe soon? :)

Alright friends, that's all I have for you. Sorry if you cry like I did.

Hopefully next blog post I won't be such an emotional wreck. :)

You anchor me back down.

Last night, I went to Mindy Gledhill's concert. I'm going to say it was the best concert I've been to. The Teton Chamber Orchestra performed with her and they were so good. It was in the Kirkham which was a little weird but it was so good because it was more intimate. Last time she performed here, it was in the street outside of Sammy's for their grand opening and it was fun and good but last night was DEFINITELY better.

She performed all her songs on her Anchor CD and then she also "ended" with her first song from her first solo album. But after her standing ovation, she came back and sang another song.

The stage was set up so cute and her personality is so fun. Plus, she's pregnant so she had a cute little baby bump. Adorable.

I was supposed to go with Erin but she couldn't come up here last minute (sadly) so I tagged along with Nicole (Haight), Gretchen, Gretchen's cousin and her date. haha but it was a really good show.

And then after the show, she was out in the foyer meeting fans and you could buy her CD's or sheet music or t-shirts. I bought a new t-shirt for me (haha because my old one is too small so I'm giving it to Shmackely) and then I bought the two CD's (cause she had a really good deal plus then I got them signed!) But Gretchen and Nicole had stolen posters from around school and had her sign them too. Well I wanted one too so I ran over to the Clarke and tried to find one inside. I did see one in the entrance to the Testing Center but since the TC was closed, the door was locked. I found a security guard inside the main part of the Clarke and asked him if he would open the door for me to get it and he did. He was seriously such a jem. hahaha so he walked over and opened the Testing Center for me, I got my poster, and then I went back and had Mindy sign it. And now it's on my wall above my bed. haha that guy was so awesome though.

But yes, it was such a good show. I love her.

And hopefully she'll come back here again soon (although since she's going on maternity leave in like a month, I doubt she'll be back very soon....)

Here is a sampling of her wonderful music:

Enjoy! :)
