update.

Unfortunately, my goals aren't going as well as I hoped. But there is still time to improve.

I've spent all day either memorizing various mono/di/poly-saccharides and their functions or being in class or forum. It has been rather great. But at least now I know all about glucose and fructose and starch and fatty acids. haha

And! It's snowing in Rexburg. OF COURSE. Apparently Rexburg hasn't gotten the spring memo. Last year, we went kayaking in gorgeous weather the day before school started but it hasn't even been warm enough to not wear a jacket yet... rude.

Anyway, Erin Young (who is pretty much my favorite person ever) was visiting these past two days.

The first day she was here, we went to Thai (and I bravely got fried rice, which was pretty good) and then we went to KiwiLoco (the new froyo place in town) and then we hung out and talked until late into the night. It was SO nice to have her back. haha plus, we had a couple of our FHE brothers over and they were convinced that she was a roommate. So now it's going to be fun to tell them some story about why she isn't here anymore... haha

Yesterday, I had my swimming class and we did our 12 minute swim. I swam 700 yds in 12 minutes which is the target for women (which apparently shows that I'm in shape... hahahaha) but I swam a total of 825 yds including my warm up/cool down. My arms were about to fall off.

And my Botony lab was SO easy. I thought it was going to be hard, like chemistry was but I thought wrong. haha easy peasy.

Erin then came over again and we decided to go to Jimmy John's (with Callie and Kaity) and then Erin and I talked about all sorts of things. haha she was over until 12:30 and we were just talking. Soo good. She also played me one of her new songs which is my new favorite of her's. Wanna hear her music? Click Here. You'll enjoy it, promise.

So yeah, she came over one last time today and it was so sad to have her leave. :( She's in SLC now so hopefully she'll come and visit.

She informed me of something though: I was the only person she ever lived with (in the same room) that she didn't want to kill OR move out by the end. And we did it twice. Mission Accomplished. :) haha too bad we won't like ever get to room together again. :(

haha alrighty well, I better get to bed. I have a rather long day ahead of myself.

Class, Temple, Tennis, Study.

Ready..... Go!

Goals

I have decided to make some goals for the semester:

1. Learn. As much as I can. Don't just go to class because "I have to" but because I WANT to and more importantly because I GET to. Awesome.

2. Apply myself to my studies. Do my work early and thoroughly.

3. Four Point Oh.

4. Make friends in all my classes. And not class friends- but real friends.

5. Attend the temple. Regularly.

6. Read my scriptures nightly. Even just a verse.

7. Learn something new everyday.

8. Have fun.

9. Attend AND take notes at every devotional.

10. have. fun. :)

I love being back in school. This semester is going to be the bomb. And honestly, what is not to love when you get to see this everyday?

Bring it on Spring '11. :)

"Always be where you're supposed to be, when you're supposed to be there."

Last Fall (semester), I would regularly go to devotional. I missed only like 2 or something (maybe not even that many.)

This semester, I'm going to go to every single one.

And today's was wonderful.

It was literally just what I needed to hear.

First, Sister Clark spoke for a short time and her talk was the most powerful. The theme (or topic or whatever) for her talk was:

"Always be where you're supposed to be, when you're supposed to be there."

When she was at BYU, someone gave a devotional and said those words and they have stuck with her since then. I have a feeling that they'll do the same for me.

But it's actually a really important concept. If you say that you'll be somewhere, be there. If you know you're supposed to be somewhere (whether it be class or church or a meeting), be there. Often times, I feel like we think that "just missing this once" won't be a problem. But this "one time" can lead to a habit.

Anywho, I just really liked it.

Then President Clark talked about deep obedience.

He shared a lot of really good scriptures from D&C 59 but my favorite was verse 7 which says "Thou shalt thank the Lord thy God in all things." Obviously this is something that everyone knows and should do but I feel like there is always something more that we can thank the Lord for because he has given us SO much.

There was a lot of other really good things that was taught but I will leave it at that.

Moral of the story: Devotional is the best. :)

Back.

To the tundra we call Rexburg. Or Iceburg.

It's cold. And so windy. But I suppose I can't really expect anything else.

I'm all moved in. And unpacked. And our room is pretty cool. hahaha

AND good news! So far, our roommates are wonderful. haha we've only met 3 (and we don't know if there is another one...) but they're cool. We might not be best friends but we'll get along with is great news. :)

So yep, that is all. It's kinda good to be back. But kinda not at the same time.

ALSO. I felt like Erin Young today at Walmart. I saw LOTS of people I knew.

First Craig, my british chem tutor. funny.

Then the Haights (which don't really count but whatever.)

and then Benjamin who was in my first chem group.

I felt so special. haha

Anywhooo... school starts tomorrow and I don't know how excited I am about it. But we shall see.

And maybs I'll blog more?

who knows.

peace.

Hilarity.

Dear world,

I am currently watching one of the funniest tv shows ever.

I die laughing every time I watch it. SO funny.

Oh gosh. You all need to watch it.

In other news,
work is beyond crazy now. Like even all the partners are like, it's weirdly busy right now... haha cool. But I only have 8 more days of work so that is great. :) It cannot come any sooner because I'm getting a little sick of my job. Oh well... haha

School starts in exactly two weeks. INSANE.

I'm currently registered for 16 credits although that will DEFINITELY change. The class I'm most excited about is (advanced!) swimming. Hahaha mostly because we get to play water polo! Yippeeee! :) But yeah, it'll be interesting.

I got my new computer last week. I'm using it right now and I'm starting to really like it. I'm still not liking it as much as my other one but we'll adjust to work together. haha it kinda hurts my hands when I type... hopefully it's just the position I've been in and not really the computer... we shall see though. but it's cute. :)

Alrighty folks, I suppose that is all.

Until next time, which will hopefully be somewhat soon.

:)
